China is proposing tariffs on American commodities, including almonds, a tariff that could raise prices by as much as 50%. China buys approximately 8% of all California Almonds annually.

Specifics on 2018 Almond Crop:

    • The carry out will be approximately 350 million pounds, down 12% from last year’s 399 million pounds.
    • Due to tariffs,Chinese demand is estimated to be 30% lower this year.
    • The Spanish crop is officially estimated at 70,000 tons, a 30% increase over last year’s 54,000 tons.
