In our Celebrating Team Tropical series, we commemorate our employees’ work anniversaries by getting to know them and their role at Tropical better. Meet Albert who is our Warehouse Manager at our Orlando office and is celebrating 10 YEARS with the company.
I started working at Tropical Orlando on May 30, 2007 as the Sanitation Tech. I was thankful for David giving me the opportunity to become a Tropical employee. Being the Sanitation Tech was an honor and I whipped the warehouse into a nice and clean working environment in time for our yearly audit. We passed with flying colors and to my surprise six months later I was named the employee of the quarter. To make a long story short, I was promoted to lead receiver in six months. Then 2 years later I was promoted to Warehouse Manager. The ride has been exciting, rewarding, stressful, and fun. I love my job!
My favorite part of the job is helping, teaching, and counseling employees and watching them blossom and grow. Seeing employees achieve success at work is two-fold. It leads to the company being successful and leads to positive things in their personal lives.
I have been fortunate to have so much success since I have joined the Tropical family and it truly is hard to pick one, but i would say being a contribution to the department that has helped Tropical Orlando to continuously meet and exceed our companies goals on a yearly basis. I’m proud of that.
I would have to say all the employee luncheons we have here are memorable. The most memorable of those luncheons was the time where we had a water balloon fight. All the managers stood in a large rectangle they could not step outside of, and all the other employees got to throw water balloons at us. That was a lot of fun.
Continued success and a larger warehouse!
I’d try my hand at writing.
Family, friends, and life has always been my mentors and the three still are.
I have filmed youth football from the end of summer to the beginning of fall for the past three years.
