In our Celebrating Team Tropical series, we commemorate our employees’ work anniversaries by getting to know them and their role at Tropical better. Meet Bill who works as a Senior Territory Manager and is celebrating 20 YEARS with the company.
I have worked at Tropical for 20 years. My primary role is to represent our company, promote our products throughout my territory, which is Charlotte, NC, Western NC, Eastern TN, and make sales happen. I also work closely with our Inside Sales Team (thank goodness for them) to get the job done.
This would be truly representing our company on a daily basis and standing behind our quality. We have something to offer everyone. I love our customers and enjoy the interaction with them. It is all about relationships and building them. We have a good team that takes their job seriously. We care, have passion in what we do and it reflects in what we do everyday.
For the past 20 years, I have been a part of a great team – helping to grow and develop not only my territory, but the company. I experienced a lot of growth and changes over the years. I was part of the team that went to Los Angeles – knocking doors – helping to develop our presence on the west coast. We are now a nationwide company. I think I had a little something to do with that and I’m proud to say so.
There are way too many to reflect upon but one sticks out. Many years ago, when walking the warehouse with Mr. York and looking at the large brick wall – I said that I’d like to be one of the first team members to take a sledge hammer and blow the wall out to expand our operation. He told me to sell more peanuts and we could make that happen!. It has happened and we are growing strong!
The biggest wish is for our company to keep growing and expand our brand. Personally, I would like to expand my customer base and utilize my culinary knowledge to help develop unique, healthy and exciting snack mixes.
I would do my best to be a professional drummer.
That would be my Dad. He is in a better place now. He was the smartest Man I have ever known. I learned so much from him about life in general. He was the best ever. Enough said!
I have played drums since I was five years old. In and out of bands throughout my life. I’m in a band that has been playing for over nine years now. Drums have always been a part of my life and I really, really love playing them.
