TELL US ABOUT YOUR BUSINESS.

We are a luxury hotel  in Baton Rouge. I’ve been a Tropical costumer for over 15 years, previously with Hyatt Hotels . Tropical has been an asset to our operation with grab and go snacks, items on our banquet menus and bulk ingredient items such as dried fruit that we use in granola. We also use candies for our Kids Chef gingerbread classes we do each year around this time where we make over 100 gingerbread houses for the kids to decorate with Tropical bulk candy options.

WHAT DO YOU ENJOY MOST ABOUT YOUR JOB?

I love being a Chef. Food has a way of bringing special memories back and I love seeing peoples’ reactions when you place that menu item in front of them. I also enjoy the community work we do here by feeding our first responders for Thanksgiving and Easter.

ANY RETAIL TIPS AND TRICKS?

Get them to try it and once they have tasted the quality they are hooked.

WHAT TROPICAL PRODUCTS DO YOU USE?

Lots of packaged snacks, bulk nuts and dried fruit for granola and build your own trail mix. Also bulk candies for gingerbread chef kids classes.

PERSONAL FAVORITE TROPICAL PRODUCT?

Yogurt covered pretzels. My childhood favorite is chocolate malted milk balls.
