In our monthly feature, Meet the Tropical Team, we’ll introduce you to some of the people who make Tropical such a wonderful company. This month meet Marion, who is a Territory Manager out of our Dallas office.

HOW LONG HAVE YOU WORKED AT TROPICAL?
A TYPICAL DAY AT TROPICAL CONSISTS OF:
I wake up around 5:30 am for prayer and reflection for 30 minutes, get the family out the door, and get on my laptop. I try to have all overnight and late night emails answered and all orders submitted by 7:45 am. My day consists of seeing my regular customers and a few cold calls. Lunch? Not in my book. I try to keep a snack and a refrigerator bag in arm’s reach to keep me going until around 3:30 pm. At this point, I stop and key any additional orders that have come in after our 2 pm cutoff. Around 4:30, my partner Tammy and I discuss any important notes we may have from our day. Typically, by 5:30 I have finished my day after posting invoices, answering missed calls, creating quotes, and any other to-do’s on my list. All in a day’s work!
FAVORITE THINGS ABOUT WORKING AT TROPICAL?
Although we (as salespeople) can try and schedule our days, I find that every day is filled with surprises. My “‘partner in crime” Tammy and I work hand in hand in our south Texas territory and if you think things are bigger in Texas, so are the surprises that happen in a moment’s notice. We just try and go with the flow, stay positive and love everything we do. Tropical allows us to sell what we love and love what we sell to the greatest customers in the world. Tropical and my customers are like my second family.
FAVORITE TROPICAL PRODUCTS:
Seriously, I have to choose!? Dark Chocolate Energy Boost is one of my absolute faves! Dark chocolate espresso beans, whole almonds, pineapples bits, cranberries, OMG -a chocolate lovers dream come true. Sinful, yet filled with “the good stuff!”
I also can’t forget South of the Border! Redskin peanuts mixed with a balance of chili lime rounds and pumpkin seeds to make that perfect, tangy treat. I told you I couldn’t choose!
IF YOU COULD CREATE YOUR OWN CUSTOM TROPICAL SNACK MIX, THE INGREDIENTS WOULD BE:
My custom snack mix would contain sunflower seeds coated in our buffalo nut seasoning, pumpkin seeds, cashews, corn cereal, redskin peanuts, and corn nuts. Crunchy, spicy and finger lickin’ Texas good!
WHAT DO YOU LIKE TO DO OUTSIDE OF WORK?
When I’m not at work, I love to garden. My son and daughter keep me young and we just love to spend quality family time together. When you love what you do, it really allows a great family balance to do the job you have in front of you and be the best you can be for your customers.
