Our CEO Angela Bauer traveled to Dallas for the WBENC Summit & Salute, one of two national events where their network comes together to create and develop dynamic relationships while celebrating the successes of women business owners. The Summit engages participants in a three-day program focused around various industry-specific tracks, business networking, and development opportunities. We’re sharing a few highlights from the three-day show.
Angela and our Director of Marketing Chad Hartman arrived in Dallas in the morning to experience all that the WBENC Summit & Salute had to offer. Their first stop was presenting in the WEinnovate session where they had the chance to present our newest snack trEAT4u. It was an honor to be chosen to speak on innovation and a great opportunity to get a snack we’re very passionate about in front of a lot of people.
After their session, they got the chance to sit in on one of the keynote speakers: Tonya Dalton, president and CEO of inkWELL Press.
Since we have an office in Dallas, it’s always nice to meet with our team there. Met with our Dallas General Manager Terry and had dinner at Pappadoux Seafood Kitchen.
Today’s Summit & Salute kicked off with a Meet & Greet in the morning. The Meet & Greet provides women business owners the opportunity to pitch their business to corporate members with 20-minute round table sessions.
After the Meet & Greet, Angela stopped by the Dallas office to have lunch with some of the team and her and Chad went on site visits with two of our Dallas Territory Sales Managers – Morgan and Dana. It’s always important to get out in the field to talk with customers and see our products on display.
After a busy afternoon, it was back to Summit & Salute for the WBENC Welcome to Dallas reception. It was a beautiful night outside in the Anatole Sculpture Garden and it’s always so much fun to get to meet with other female business owners and diversity supporters in the industry.
Dinner that night was at Luck Local Urban Craft Kitchen, a cool gastropub with lots of Texas craft beers on tap, Southern comfort food & a sparkling patio.
It was a busy morning with 1:1 MatchMaker sessions which are pre-scheduled, one-on-one meetings with National Corporate accounts, prime suppliers and key business partners to explore sourcing opportunities. With 20 minutes to talk to each company, it’s valuable to hear more about what they are looking for with a snack provider and figure out the best ways our capabilities can align with their needs.
The Summit & Salute adventures ended with retail industry track sessions before the team headed back to Charlotte.
